Community Support Services Program (SSP)
The Support Service Provider (SSP) empowers clients by providing access to
the community and information to make informed decisions. This service allows individuals to
accomplish necessary tasks, promotes interaction, and provides opportunities
to transfer newly learned skills to functional settings.
Support Service Providers are staff members who are skilled in
various modes of communication, such as print-on-palm and sign language, as
well as safe guide techniques. They
provide necessary assistance in such tasks as:

Shopping
·
Banking
·
Reading
mail
·
Apartment hunting
·
Appointment and subsidized
transportation scheduling
·
Household organization and labeling
in Braille, large print, raised markings
